I Left My Heart In Genting Highlands

Overall I would say it was a great holiday! Sounds a bit off yes? Well that’s because a few family members and I were battling the flu. However that didn’t dampen our spirits one bit! Check out the view from our room which was considered a premium suite on the 24th Floor of First World Hotel.

Although I’ve been to the Genting Highlands Theme Park a few times already, this time round I went on two rides I had intentionally missed out. They were the Spinner….pic below and the Space Shot similar to the ‘The Giant Drop’ in Dreamworld Gold Coast just slightly less intense.

I had booked our Theme park 2 Day All Park passes online prior, so we could take our time to do almost all the rides we could summon the energy to do. Which was just about all the rides they had minus erm…four I would say.

On the 2nd night, I popped in the casino for a while and had a few rounds at the slot machines. After which it was women, wine and song……hmmm well it was actually beer and the women were a very talented Filipino trio who rattled our hearts with their song and the shaking of their booties. I was in good company…..Josh was with me throughout….hmmm never mind. For two nights back to back we had two buckets of Heineken (10 btls) and on the last night we ended it with two tequila shots and whiskey dry for me and JD coke for him.

When I chanced upon an Arabic Restaurant, I was so tempted to have a go at smoking the Sheisha just so I could say I tried it. But according to Josh it is way cheaper in Singapore, so will try it one of these days and let you know. Instead I smoked a few cigarettes, a holiday smoke if you will *guffaws & coughs* And it really reminded me of why I gave it up in the first place! That is another story…..

Oh! and although I’ve tried the food in many places in Genting, I was surprised to find that the food in a run down station canteen was fantastic and the most value for money. In fact it was better than some of the expensive restaurants.

And finally why such a title you may ask? Did you fall in love with Genting Highlands? Hee hee erm No!……Well it was a wonderful break for me to finally find answers to so many unanswered questions. Sometimes you just have to go out of the country to have a better perspective on things, to live life with a passion! So what I actually left behind was the old sentimental bleeding heart…….Cest La Vie! 😉
