Busy Setting Up NB100 & Bitdefender

Been busy setting up and installing software for Madame’s Netbook which was upgraded to 2gb Ram at the IT fair all in for $709 SGD which came with a free flip case.

It came with Pre-installed Genuine XP Home Edition, Microsoft Office 2007 Professional ( 30 Day evaluation with option to purchase) Norton Internet Security 2009 (90 day evaluation) of which I removed the two latter.

Setup and installation took me about 3hrs++ and so far everything about it is great for what it was built for.  It was not an easy a task considering that it does not have a dvdrom or cdrom bay and so most of the installation had to be done via an external hard drive.  I love the size and portability but absolutely hate the keyboard which seems to have been built for smurfs….ok children and slender fingered females.  Apart from that everything seems to be running fast and smoothly.

Also decided to install Bitdefender for the anti-virus and Internet security because of the rave reviews and guess what? They were right! Pity I already paid up for my McAfee installation uptill 2011 when I purchased it together with my Dell notebook otherwise I would be tempted to switch.  McAfee is good, so is Norton but Bitdefender ROCKS!

Well that’s all for the update for now….Oh and Firefox 3.07 is now available for download or update!
