Plot: Centering on Ip Man’s migration to Hong Kong in 1949 as he attempts to propagate his discipline of Wing Chun martial arts.
Well unlike the first one, the fight sequences are very much different and perhaps even packs less of a punch. However the overall storyline is still pretty good and Sammo Hung larger than life presence is as always welcomed. Perhaps I was seated too close to the screen, hence most of the fist fighting was like a blur to me unlike the first one. In the first one, I could almost feel the blows! Blow by blow…
Life’s lessons on dignity, respect, honour, tolerance, charity and much more is nicely woven into the movie storyline just like in it’s predecessor.
If like me you rated the first one a 9 then you’ll probably rate this one a 7.5 which needless to say is still worth watching!
